The Program

At Summit Christian Academy, athletics are an important part of life. The qualities that lead to success in athletic competition - hard work, discipline, character, and full use of one's ability - can lead to a successful life. By emphasizing participation and fun, SCA maintains a proper perspective about the role of athletics in a school community.

Summit Christian Academy gives its students many opportunities to compete in team and individual sports. Competitive programs begin in 5th Grade and continue through the Varsity level in High School.

For elementary & middle school sports, SCA is a member of the Austin Christian Athletic Association (ACAA).

For varsity sports, SCA is a member of the Texas Association of Private & Parochial Schools (TAPPS).

Mission & Philosophy

Our goal in Athletics at SCA is to help student-athletes develop biblical character and sound fundamental skills through participating on the various sports teams.

The elementary and middle school programs emphasize participation over success, affording students greater opportunity to find their individual strengths and weaknesses. It is through the elementary and middle school programs that students are introduced to the fundamentals and proper skill techniques that are crucial to competing on the next level.

As student-athletes make the transition to the varsity level, emphasis shifts from participation to success and winning. The ability to get along and the willingness to accept one's role for the good of the team assume more importance than individual achievement. Excellence can be achieved by reaching one's full potential on a team and individual basis.

While achieving success within the realm of athletic competition is certainly a goal of the athletics program, it must always be viewed against the backdrop of SCA's overall mission. Our coaches understand that success in the classroom is of paramount importance. And because SCA students have the opportunity, and are encouraged, to participate in such a wide variety of activities, our coaches are more than willing to make concessions when other activities conflict with athletics. It must be noted that clear communication between coaches and players, as well as between coaches and teachers, is crucial.

Forms

Below you will find the Physical/Medical History form for this year's player physicals. Please have your student-athlete get their physicals completed as soon as possible. Our goal is to have all physical forms completed before practices begin.

A player that transfers in from another school is not eligible to play in a regular season game until the TAPPS transfer form below is filled out and turned in to the coach. This does not apply to those students who were at Summit last year, but did not play. This is only for those students new to Summit.

Please contact us if you have any questions about either form.
