Student Questionnaire

Test. Students applying for kindergarten through first grade are tested using a nationally-normed developmental readiness test. Students applying for second through twelfth grades are tested using a nationally-normed achievement and aptitude test.

An entering student's developmental age should meet the following criteria:

Minimal Preferred:

  • Kindergarten 5.0 -5.5
  • First Grade 6.0 -6.5

If applicants have a current nationally-normed test from a previous school, they may present the results in lieu of testing. If additional testing is needed, a testing time will be established. A percentile score of 51 or above in both reading and math is expected for admission.

Interview and disclosure.  A family interview for all prospective families is the final step in the admission process. It is at this time that the administration seeks to articulate and asses the partnership between families and the school. Summit's biblical role is to work in partnership with the home to mold students in Christ's likeness.

Lifestyle Statement

"To serve the best interest of the school, Summit Christian Academy’s board and administration reserves the right to deny admission to any applicant that does not adhere to biblical standards in living out his/her life, including the lifestyle of an applicant's guardian or parent.

Summit Christian Academy’s biblical identity is in Jesus Christ, his Lordship, sovereignty, and ultimate authority. That authority is known to Christians through the Word of God embraced in the Old and New Testaments. We seek to partner with Christian parents to mold students in Christ-likeness.  On occasion, the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home may be in opposition to the biblical standards the school teaches.

Specifically, we believe the Scriptures teach, and we adhere to out of obedience to God, two key principles surrounding gender and marriage:

1.       God created human beings as male and female (Genesis: 1:27, 5:2, 6:19). Transgenderism and gender identities other than male and female are not biblical and therefore not allowed at Summit.

2.       God instituted marriage to be between one man and one woman (Matthew 19:3-12, Luke 16:18, 1 Corinthians 7:2, 1 Corinthians 11:3). Same sex marriages are not biblical, therefore we will not admit students who profess to be homosexual, or who are children of a homosexual partnership or marriage."

Non-Discriminatory Statement

Summit Christian Academy admits students of any race to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to all students. Summit Christian Academy practices a biblical philosophy of admissions, not discrimanitory on the basis of race, sex, color, or national origin in the administration of its policies, admissions, financial aid, and other school-directed programs.
